We were in the preferred room 222 which backs directly on to the building with the construction. Hi We came back from this resort on Sat Dec 19.We went largely on assurances from the resort liasion on facebook and from our provider (Air Canada) that all the noisy work would be done by then. Thankfully we booked preferred and so got to use the preferred beach which has. It was a shame, as it could have been nice. The sky bar (which was sort of nice) has a solid dose of disco which meant we only went there for a few minutes a couple times. Very few people used the main pool for this reason. I think they are cranking the music to mask the construction. The comments about the music at the pools are accurate. It is really up to you how much this bothers you or what your expectation was but my husband is a very light sleeper and was unable to enjoy any kind of beach nap. (The overall structure looks largely done but interiors not done, patio doors just starting to go in). The noise at this point was largely tile saws, hammering and drills. We could also hear construction at the beach and in the restaurants. The room is nice but you can clearly hear the construction when it is going (about 8am to 8pm).
